Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Mastering the Elements of Good Cooking
by Samin Nosrat
I think I learned a good amount from this book! I knew the basics of what this was about, and have been trying to lean into them without actual training for a while now. I did implement some of the lessons into cooking zucchini as a side dish last night and it turned out well!
The audio format, while it has done me well for my nonfiction books, was probably not the correct medium for this book. I definitely missed some details in the many lists included in this book (for example, I know there are different types of salt and they have different applications, but they blur together which is which on memory).
Would recommend for people starting to cook to make the journey more enjoyable!
