I liked this book and found the beginning to middle very intriguing, heart wrenching, and was unable to put it down. With that being said, I found the middle to end a little far fetched. I just couldn't get along with the relationship that actually developed between Griet and Jakob. It's such a father-daughter innocent relationship as she was a child, and when he suddenly returns, they're in love. I just found it odd I guess. Overall a good read though!
