Hanya Yanagihara is a fantastic writer. However, this book was just too much. For me, it was so over the top - all the tragic things that kept happening piling up on top of one another. It took me out of the emotion of the story.
It is a slow, long read that I pushed through hoping for something different to happen. For some character development. Some hope. I couldn’t even recommend this to others as a read.
