This was just alright for me.

A good 3/4 of this story was just Wren traveling with Oak and Tiernan to the Citadel and then everything crazy happened in the last 85 pages or so, eventually ending on a cliffhanger. The reason I bumped this up to a 3.5 instead of just a 3 is because Holly Black always does a great job of having shocking reveals that make my jaw drop at the end of her books, and this one was no different.

But overall, I loved the Folk of the Air series a lot more and I'm hoping the second book in The Stolen Heir duology is better than this one 😅
