I'd highly recommend going into this book blind. And to be honest, you don't really know what's going on for a while. I absolutely loved the setting of this, and the characters were well-developed. It's insanely impressive that Clarke was able to transport me to this setting, craft an intriguing plot, and have me invested in the characters, all in under 300 pages.
This makes me look forward to reading her other novel.
Let me also say, that if you're someone who doesn't love long chapters, don't worry, the way this is written, the chapters don't feel that long because of how it's written. I don't want to say anything more, just open up the book and enjoy the story.
