I knew that this sequel would uncover the secrecy between Stanley and Daniel, but I didn't expect what those secrets were. I will admit that I felt bad for his younger self, considering the fact that children don't know any better than to follow their parents. However, it was hard for me to feel bad for him as an adult, after his racist remarks against Sal and his family. I found the relationship between Ravi and Pip to be extremely insufferable in this book and I'm praying that they break up in the next book. It's just so weird and inappropriate to normalize adult/minor relationships in YA books.
Overall, I thought the build up to the plot twist was okay. I fully anticipated the ending to be more elaborate.
