this book called me lonely, hit on tropes i generally do not like, and made me deeply sad about the current state of american politics... and i really liked it
there was loads working against it
1) my usual avoidance of romance novels
2) my dislike of modern royalty/fictionalised real world politics/celebrity characters
3) my stubborn habit of disliking many wildly hyped books
4) an audiobook narrator that made early 20-something henry sound like a 45 year old man with an aggressively unsexy fake english accent
and yet? this was fucking cute. emotional and charming and really solid all around
