The Bat by Jo Nesbø

Okay this author has been on my TBR for sooo long and honestly this book did not live up to the hype.
I'm not sure if it was a translation thing or a product of it's time thing but there was terminology used and interactions in this book that just really did not pass the vibe check for me.
As for the actual story itself, I liked the use of red herrings and how deeply interconnected all the characters were. Especially Andrew, I honestly wished we got to see more of his character.
I was happy that Harry wasn't some magical detective that swooped in and somehow knew everything about everyone despite being on a whole new continent.
As the start of a series it makes me equal parts hesitant and hopeful to continue. Like I hope Harry becomes a less messy main character but at the same time I'm not jumping to pick up book two.
