Thank you so much to author Bella Durand for this ARC. The art for this cover is absolutely gorgeous and I love Rose & Gabriel so much.

 

Y’all this is spice on spicy on hot. Be prepared. This is a DARK romantic Hunchback of Norte Dame retelling with HIGH heat. Dual POV.  Check triggers before reading. There is BDSM, breath play, restraints, impact play, monster peen, and praise… to name a few 😅

 

Gabriel is a large hot gargoyle demon who was so out of control he was kicked out of  hell. He’s admired Rose from afar, a courtesan who is sole caretaker and provider for her ailing father. She’s also super hot. I love how protective Gabriel is over Rose and how he takes care of her when she is injured just gives me all the feels. Rose breaks my heart with her insecurities, and unfamiliarity with kindness. 

 

I loved the writing style, and how much heart was packed into this short read. Even if all sexual kinks were not my preference, these scenes were smoking hot. 🥵 

 

Getting into 🚨SPOILERY🚨 territory…..

 

The ending just bummed me out, doused the spicy flames. I’m in my delulu HEA era and just want to read the happy because the real world is a bummer. I would argue the end isn't a HEA for romance reads standards.  My beloved characters live forever and ever and that’s all I want to know. 🥲 so I knocked off .25 of a star for leaving me with the case of the sads. If you read all of this and are still interested, go read this book!
