A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

Did not finish book. Stopped at 71%.
Several things.  Nothing was happening in the plot.  There were so many story lines going on at the same time which would normally help increase the pace but each perspective change started to detract from the story.  Every chapter the story changed to a different person in a different place and they still were not joining up and connecting at all even after 600 out of 800 pages.  Every time there would be an interesting plot development the chapter would end and you'd have to go through 7 chapters to get back around to the story you wanted to read about.  It made it very difficult to stay engaged and to care about the characters when there was so much  slow every-little-detail-that hasn't-meant-anything-spelled-out story development worldbuilding and little to no character building.  I tried to give it a good fair try but after reading 3/4 of the book with still very little to keep me going I gave it up.
