Things I Never Told You by Beth K. Vogt

4.0

Ok so first of all if you’re not very religious I would recommend this book. I am in an in between area and even then I found the religion portions - while they weren’t over bearing they were very prominent and using God as a way to justify some things. That being said it’s only majorly focused on the last quarter or so of the book.
However I really enjoyed how this book was written, I found myself and the edge of my seat quickly turning pages when things like the lockbox were uncovered or figuring out what Zach of Geoff’s intentions were.
Johanna was a straight up biatch. I hated her character and couldn’t stand whenever she would force her planning issues on anyone. Not surprised Beckett wanted to station far from her.
Jillian. Oh poor Jillian. I really felt for her when she got her breast cancer diagnosis and everyone was more concerned with her wedding than with her. Gosh Geoff was s trooper tho. I felt really bad when she left him bc of her cancer but it’s like sis he still wants you. Although I definitely saw where she was coming from with all her insecurities.
Poor Payton most of all. She felt burdened with the thought that it was her fault and taking all the blame must’ve really messed her up. I did still feel for Nash when she dropped him like that even though it was all because of her own insecurities. I do really hope she pursues her volleyball dream even with Pepper gone. I also hope she gives Zach a chance if he even wants that.
That being said I won’t continue with the series. The religiousness really threw me off.
