Whispers In Autumn: Book 1 of The Last Year series by Trisha Leigh

5.0

I loved Whispers in Autumn! Although it was similar to many dystopian books, I found myself unable to put this one down!

I really liked the concept of the Others and their controlling the human race through brainwashing. Also I loved how Althea traveled between different families for different seasons. The world that it's set in isn't too interesting. It is pretty much the same as Earth now, but the Others have made everyone be the same. Also they are fenced in, like in many dystopians.

Even thought there were many similarities between this and other books within the genre, I really liked this one!

My favorite character would be Althea. She was a really strong female character, and I loved the way that she took it upon herself to try and figure out what was going on in her world. I also loved Lucas, and the way that he really made Althea think about the life she was living and whether or not it was really right.

The small amount of romance between her and Lucas was very cute, and there was a huge cliffhanger at the end that tugged at my heart a bit...

Overall, for all of you sci-fi and dystopian fans out there, check this one out!
