The Walking Dead, Vol. 21: All Out War Part 2 by Robert Kirkman

3.0

I understand character development and what comprises the best villains but... Negan should have been killed. The way this part of the narrative ends undermines the character arcs leading up to the end, imho. I almost feel like the writer fell in love with Negan as a character, didn't have the heart to see the narrative through to the appropriate end, and copped out.

I am leery of reading anything beyond this point. I could just end the story in my mind and call it done. It would be a perfect end to the entire series. I'm afraid Kirkman will screw up the story because he didn't have the guts to follow through. Or maybe he thought that was a great twist? I don't think it was. It made me hate the whole series for just a moment.

That end turned a 5-star story into a 3-star story. Just my opinion. Take it or leave it, all things being subjective.
