Beyond the Wand: The Magic & Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard by Tom Felton

5.0

For some reason this book seems to have escaped the bookstagram world for the most part, so when I stumbled across it one day as an audio book (read by the author) I purchased and downloaded it immediately.

Tom Felton, mostly known for his role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movie franchise, peels back the film canister on his family, acting career and life growing up in the wizarding world as well as what happens when it alls comes to an end.

This was a brilliant Celeb memoir that had everything that I wanted from Tom's magical narration, life with three brothers, tid bits from the auditions to filming of Harry Potter and so many mischievous tales. There was also so much personal growth explored in the story with a clear contrast between who he was as a child and then who he started to become as an adult. His relationships and appreciation for those around him were also genuine and enlightening to hear about - he honestly could have so easily followed another path due to the fame.

I have already started to recommend this read to many people around me and if you love an actor's memoir and are a bit of a Potter fan I would also love for you to read this book and experience what Tom Felton has to say.
