I really wanted to love this book, and in some ways, I did! I loved the very diverse characters and the way that the author incorporated differing sexual orientations and open relationships. However, I found this story very difficult to follow. Each section of the book was told from the point of view of a different character, which is normally fine for me. However, in this book, the cast of characters was so large, it was difficult to follow who was telling what story. I also found it very difficult to piece together how all of the characters fit in together. I felt that the author did not explain how
the secret societies tied into the story of Laina, Lincoln, Rebecca, and Ridley. I also felt that the group that Ridley was a part of was not tied in well to the story either.
This made this book incredibly difficult to follow. However, the writing style was absolutely beautiful and I appreciate the language that the author used. Despite having a difficult time following the story, I was drawn to the writing style and the diversity.
