i tried so hard to like this but my GOD. never let white men write fantasy novels again. ever.
apart from the blatant Orientalism and racism, the writing style was so dry i ended up skimming the last few pages. it was just fucking boring, i don't know what to say.
oh and also the romanticised, pseudo-medieval world was bleh. everything was tolkienesque in a worse way. patriarchal, racist, very very heterosexual. also, i fucking hate fantasy elves.
all in all. i liked the dragon.
