Inferno by Dante Alighieri
3.0

Not exactly finished this book. After a point, I just skimmed past the remaining pages. Why? Because I was offended. That being said, it interestingly still made sense.
Anyway, I can imagine why this book is hailed so much. It has raw creativity and ideas so ingeniously applied. The words and rhymes were confusing at places and footnotes were obnoxiously pertinent but it was bearable.
Unless your edition has a hefty introduction on Dante and Florence, much of this won’t make much sense. I can also see why it became famous back then. It’s literally like the Ready Player One of that era. Full of “pop culture” references xD.
One interesting point is that I kept on wondering what part of Hell I’d go to and I wondered where other people would go. It’s basically a book that is experienced and analysed better than simply read.
The whole theme of hells circle. The specifications. The designs. The punishments. The symbolism. Those were the main appeals.
