The Last Thing to Burn: A Novel
by Will Dean
A woman is being held captive on an isolated farm by a man who kidnapped her 7 years ago. When she gets pregnant, she is determined to get her and her child away from this horrible life. But then another woman is brought on the farm...
This is a dark and raw thriller, definitely not an easy read. Please check your triggers before going into this one. I have seen it being compared to Misery and Room. And although I did like these two books better than this one, I agree with the comparison. In the early pages, I compared it myself to Appetite for Innocence. I read this one because I heard so many good things about it. And I read The Last One by the same author and I adored it so I knew I had to read this one... But it didn't quite hit the mark, so I don't think this one was for me.
