3.0

I feel like I would've liked this a lot more had I read it as a teen, so is that the book's fault for the 3 star rating...? (Probably more like a 3.5 but not enough to round it up to a 4.) I don't know. I also definitely feel like I would've liked it more if I hadn't already read (and loved) Anne of Green Gables... but instead I just found myself rolling my eyes at L.M. Montgomery writing about yet another young orphan girl with an overactive imagination and a passion for writing. It was a nice enough story but nothing that wowed me in the slightest, which is unfortunate.
