The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
by Kate DiCamillo
"Edward knew what it was like to say over and over again the names of those you had left behind. He knew what it was like to miss someone. And so he listened. And in his listening, his heart opened wide and then wider still." -Kate DiCamillo
Loved: the vast array of emotions this book took me on! I could not put it down. I started it only because I was previewing it to see if it would be a good read aloud, and then it swept me up! The journey felt like it moved at just the right pace. The characters were PERFECTLY developed and real, I feel in love with each one of them.
disLiked: that we had to say to goodbye to some characters too soon! (But in a way this totally captured the sadness if having to unexpectedly say goodbye to someone.
Learned: there is great power in Hope and it is a choice.
Lingering questions: What happened with Pellegrina?
5 Stars= I absolutely loved it, felt very moved. Extraordinary. I rarely give this rating.
3 Stars= I enjoyed it but wasn't wowed. My most common rating
1 Star= I intensely disliked this book.
