3.5 stars. The reasons that I had a hard time with this book were actually more to do with me than the book. I think that it was actually a good story and I liked learning more about some of the main characters from the earlier books. My biggest problem was that it has been such a long time since I read the first three Study books that I just couldn't remember many of the characters and story lines from them and I found that frustrating enough that I had a hard time just enjoying the story. Also, I probably wouldn't have read this if I had realized that it was the first book in a new series because I really hate waiting for the sequels. All in all, if you like the Study series, then this is worth reading...though it would also be worth it to wait for the next several to be written before you start.
