branching out by reading this epic poem that follows two families navigating colonial violence and displacement in its many forms through multiple generations. the book did have my curious about translation (translation for poetry seems so hard!) and the linguist in me really liked the Northern Sámi note about ædnan (the land, the earth, my mother), ædno (the river), and ædni (the mother) at the end.
