A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers

5.0

Wow I've read another book from this author and I just couldn't stop myself from reading a novella from them. This book was so much despite being so short. Brilliant writing and thoughts on life and death, feeling empty and not knowing why, and so much more. Definitely a must read.

If you want to dip your toes in sci fi, this is perfect because its easy to understand and simple. If you also want something cozy but still reflects on deeper life questions, this is also for you.

Summary:
After robots decided they didn't want to work in factories anymore, the humans let the robots leave and since then, there has not been contact between robots and people.
Now, the people have grown and the world is much better now. Despite Dex's life looking seemingly perfect, they still don't feel satisfied and they don't know why. They decide to become a self taught tea monk (someone who make teas and comforts people) but even after perfecting that, they still feel empty. On a whim they decide to leave the city and go on an adventure to see if they can find more purpose in their life. But instead of purpose, Dex meets a robot.
