There's Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins

challenging dark mysterious fast-paced

“Everybody has at least one moment they deeply regret, but that one moment...it doesn't define all of you.”

➽ I heard a ton of mixed reviews about There's Someone Inside Your House, but I had a good time with it! I don't read much Horror, so I didn't have any high expectations. The story is your typical Slasher because someone in Makani's new town is killing off students one by one. The murders are grotesque and seem to happen to people who have something to hide. Makani herself is still struggling with her past and the reason she moved to her grandmother's home. I really liked the thick tension and ominous atmosphere, as you know everyone could be next. I also enjoyed Makani's relationship with her grandmother! I know Stephanie Perkins usually writes Contemporary books, but her first Horror book turned out great and is accessible for anyone who usually doesn't read this genre!
