I loved this book. It is gripping and mysterious, fast-paced with intriguing plot reveals. I love the continued development of dragon/rider relationships and the snippets of insights into other dragon/rider relationships beyond Violet's. There is enough danger and heart wrenching loss to keep you on your toes and invested. There seemed to be a lot more humour within the character development of this book which I loved. I eventually found Xaden and Violet's constantly hot and cold bickering (and lack of ability to effectively communicate) a bit irritating by the end of Iron Flame, but thankfully that did not continue through to Onyx Storm, more just bits of understandable tension. Without giving spoilers, it ended in a way that leaves me eager for the next installment. Finally, I also think the main narrator (for Violet) was excellent. There are little bits I could pick at if I so wished, but more than comfortable with a 5 star rating overall!
