This book is insane in the best way possible. Clearly a horror / sci fi twist on the classic Canterbury Tales, this book is setting a stage for a larger world that we only see bits and pieces of before the end. This book is about the journey and the motivations for each character, asking the reader to be empathetic towards a wide, diverse set of circumstances. It’s extremely spiritual and philosophical and perfectly melds various forms of horror into the story, making each chapter uniquely compelling and wildly different from the last. It’s a slow read but completely worth it from start to finish.
Graphic: Body horror, Gore, Terminal illness, Violence
