The Trouble with Mistletoe
by Jill Shalvis
4.5 Stars!!
The Trouble With Mistletoe was such a fun read for me. This is my first book by this author and I can promise you, it will not be my last.
As soon as I picked up this book and started reading, I realized that I have been missing out. I mean truly missing out. This story was incredibly well written. I could not put it down. I fell in love with Keane and Willa right away. You see, Willa is the kind of girl you can’t help but want to be friends with. She’s had a tough life, and really thinks about those she lets get close. When she lets you in, you’d be stupid to mess things up. So, not only is Willa an amazing friend, but she’s strong and super independent. Keane is guy that every girl wants. He’s sexy and charming. He can’t help but find himself addicted to Willa and will do anything to make her see that he’s not the same dumb boy from high school….
The Trouble With Mistletoe was a fantastic read. It was funny and entertaining. It was hard to put down and was a book that I easily devoured in one sitting. The characters were fun and easy to connect with. I loved the people that Willa surrounded herself with. You couldn’t help but want to know more about all of them. I adored Willa and Keane together. Their banter was fun and engaging. They played off one another so well and I loved their push and pull. I enjoyed the alpha side of Keane and enjoyed watching him fall for Willa. Keane and Willa had some amazing chemistry. I loved watching their relationship grow and the anticipation of how things would turn out for them.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was a lot of fun and just so easy to read. It had just the right amount of humor and romance. There was some angst and drama, but for the most part, it was pretty light. There was a little bit of heavy subject matter, but it was handled well and like I said, it was pretty light; not over the top in any way. As far as romance goes, the romance between Willa and Keane was fantastic. It was sweet, swoon-worthy and had just the right amount of steam.
I enjoyed every minute of this book and can not wait to read more from this author!
