I'm a sucker for single dads, so I had a feeling that Lawson's story would be my favorite, and it didn't disappoint. Hallie is such a beautiful, strong soul who is rescued by Lawson after being k!dnapp3d and is working to overcome her PTSD and anxiety attacks. As someone with similar mental health struggles, I really connected with her, even if we have different pasts. When she applies for a nanny job while trying to be more independent, she comes face to face with Lawson from five years earlier. Little by little she wins over his kids, Luke (the empath who struggles with emotions), Drew (the teenage heartthrob), and Charlie (the sweetest five-year-old ever), and then breaks down Lawson's walls. The growth of the characters is beautiful, and as an empath, I really connected with Luke's struggles. I love that we got to see all of the past family members again, and got updates on their progress. The suspense and twists in this were all perfectly written and I totally never would have seen them coming.

Home run for Catherine, this has become my favorite book from the series AND my favorite series from her overall. I can totally see myself rereading the series again at some point.
