Say You’ll Remember Me knocked it out of the park. I was laughing out loud from the start thanks to “Pooter Needs a Poop Chute.” Between Samantha’s wit and Tristan’s sass, there were so many moments of levity and joy in a story that carefully explored the love and sacrifice of caring for a loved one with early onset dementia.
One thing I appreciate about Abby Jimenez is that she doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, often shedding a light on medical issues that are overlooked or misunderstood. This book was no exception. My heart ached for the Diaz family as they processed their grief, but was also moved by how they remained grounded through the strength of their bond.
The grumpy x sunshine romance between Samantha & Xavier made for one of my favorite AJ pairings. Bonus points for the ACOTR reference!
Overall, this book did an excellent job of balancing the weight of trauma and grief with the beauty of compassion, humor, and love. Highly recommend.
