Wolf Hollow by Lauren Wolk

This book is beautiful.
I read it because it is on the Carnegie Medal 2017 shortlist. And it definitely deserves to be there.
I will admit, this story starts off slowly. But please do not be put off - this slow beginning is vital to the story!
This is a story about how we perceive people, and the way we treat them based on assumptions. And what a beautiful story indeed.
I do love a bit of historical fiction every now and again, and this book was lovely in that aspect. It sets a fantastic picture of quietness, and anxiety, and simplicity. Annabelle is a truly lovely character who is lovable in every way. Even though the story is short, her character development is amazing and she will grow on you, become a friend.
I loved this story for the way it tells its message. It is important.
