Rosemary and Rue
by Seanan McGuire
More like 2.5 Stars. I didn't really dislike it, but lots of things about it bugged me. Everything from having a pronunciation guide for the Gaelic, but no translation of the meaning, to the passive, wishy-washy protagonist, who was a bit of a turn-off. There was a lot that distracted me or pulled me out of the story, and I don't feel like the fae aspects of the book were integrated well into the urban aspects...compared to a series like the Dresden Files. Most of Toby's actions were completely un-relatable. In short, it didn't make me want to pick up any of the sequels, but it also didn't make me toss the book across the room either. In fact, it was pretty "meh," all around. No laughter, lust, anger, fear, or even suspense.
