Ricochet by Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie
5.0
Krista & Becca Ritchie are rising to the top of my favorite author list. I have read their books countless times and they're still just as good as the first time. The Addicted Series is one of those series that I know I will still love ten years down the road.
Lily and Lo are characters that I root for. They're flawed, and they're broken in some way but they're fighting so damn hard to overcome their obstacles. They love each other so deeply and unconditionally. They've each seen the bad of each other. They have a strong bond.
Ricochet takes place between Addicted To You and Addicted For Now, it is a full length story. If you are thinking about reading this series, you do need to read Ricochet. There's a lot of stuff that you don't want to miss that happens in this book.
Ricochet is emotional, and is told in the present and flashbacks. We see Lily and Lo during their childhood.
The character development in these novels is AMAZING. Each character has their own voice and personality and you can see that. They each have their own quirks and flaws.
The story line is original and unique. These books bring out all the feels. I laugh, smile, cry, my heart races, and my palms sweat. I get butterflies in my stomach while reading these books.
Lily and Lo are working hard to beat their addictions and become better people. They've been through a lot and they still have a long road ahead of them. There's not really any drama in these books, the main focus is Lily and Lo's addictions and them getting healthy. But, that doesn't take anything away from the story. You can relate in some way to the characters and their story is realistic.
These books are addictive. I can't get enough of them. They're intense, emotional, heart-wrenching, and moving.
I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves stories with great writing, realistic story lines, and emotional scenes.
Rating: 4.5 stars
Some quotes from Ricochet:
“I love you,” he says again, “and no other man will ever say those words and mean them the way I do.”
“I want to love Lo without people telling me that our love is too much.”
“Even when I was a kid, Lo would put his hands on my cheeks and kiss me really quickly, and we'd burst into laughter afterwards. He'd end up chasing me through the fancy parties that our parents brought us to, trying to steal another.
I'd always let him catch me.”
“Fine. Such a stupid word really. It feels empty and weightless. It’s the kind of word you use to hide the truth.”
