This (audio)book came up in my recommendations somewhere, but I don't totally remember how or where. I decided to give it a shot because I've been thinking about dipping my toes into YA a little bit. I'm super glad I did because I could not get enough of this book. It was captivating and magical and overall wonderful. I was shocked to like the reader too. I almost always hate male readers and have to speed them up a bunch to deal with them, but for some reason this one was awesome. At first the slow southern accent feels kinda hokey but I found it really added to the atmosphere for me and I didn't speed him up at all. I am really excited to get to the rest of this series. I would have loved this as a teenager and I loved it now too!
