Thanks Book Sparks for the gifted FRC2024 pick in exchange for an honest review!
I really enjoyed this one. I've been loving Greek mythology lately, so this hit just right.
I absolutely loved our main characters Eirene and Lamia. I thought their personalities meshed well together and made for an interesting story. The dialogue between them was perfect!
I also really liked how magic was used in this book. It was subtle yet done well. The theme of love was also present and I think the author did a great job at creating this subtle love story.
I did find this ancient world to be a bit disjointed at times. We clearly were on an ancient Greek island called Zakynthos, but sometimes things felt too modern for the time period. I also wish we got to learn more about our setting, too!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If you love fantasy, magic, and Greek mythology, this is one to pick up!
