What an absolute delight this book was. The "magic school, but what if we followed the adults?" vibes were ideal. I enjoyed the magic system - or rather systems - and the characters from different backgrounds whose strengths and experiences lay in different areas. I appreciated the discussions of class and how it determines what opportunities are open to someone. It really felt like Tesh when it delved into a sense of place, rootedness, belonging.
