Whispers and the Roars by K. Webster

This is one of those books where if I tell you anything, I will give the whole book away. I just can't talk about it...

What I can tell you is what I felt while reading these books. I experienced an abundance of emotions throughout this book.

There was a lot of confusion in the beginning. I couldn't quite piece together who was who, with the exception of Kady, Yeo and a few family members. Things were all over the place and my anxiety was building.

While the tension was swirling, I found myself cringing at certain parts. There were situations that I can't do with books; there were some that made me almost put the book down. However, I kept pushing through, gritting my teeth from time to time.

Relief, sorrow, happiness and WTF moments were abundant in this book. At one point, when things clicked and fell into place, I wanted to slap myself for not seeing it. For not seeing the signs. The only way I can explain it is how I have felt with some of Aleatha Romig's books. The clues are there, you just don't pick them up until things happen to pull it all together.

In a nutshell, this is one of my favorites of the year. It's a must read for those who are not hyper-sensitive to questionable and darker situations. It's a must read for those who love shock and awe (and again, not hyper-sensitive). This is in no way light and fluffy... NOT AT ALL!
