I'm going to write something more in depth, but in short you spend the whole book waiting for June to get her come uppins and then honestly I didn't expect the ending to play out like it did. The tone-deaf apathetic publishing/ marketing world is laid bare while you sit in June's mind and experience her anxiety (and justifications). Everything that is wrong with marketing rather than storytelling drives June's actions and the professionals absolutely make you want to roll your eyes.
