Fractured Sky by Catherine Cowles

5.0

Fractured Sky is the fifth installment in the Tattered and Torn series by Catherine Cowles. I am so sad yet happy to have gotten to the final installment of the series. I was super nervous about reading this one, as its one of the more popular installments out of the whole series. I really enjoyed the way in which the author implemented this story. I knew that it would be a emotional roller coaster, but she just rocked this book in all of the best ways. I just couldn't get enough of this one here.

In Fractured Sky we have two people that come together who have both experienced various forms of trauma and abuse and are working on healing themselves. They find an affinity in helping damaged horses heal from abusive previous owners and find new homes for them. Seeing these two lost souls find such intimacy together and a solid relationship was so riveting. I just loved each step that these two took together in their journey in embracing a romantic relationship. The kinship that they feel towards each other is so relevant and they are able to just able to connect in a way they have never been able to before. The self discovering and connection is the soul of the story and just takes your breath away.

I truly adored this installment and I think its my favorite of the series. There was something so much "more" to this one than what we see in the previous books. I adored how their romance develops. They definitely haven't had it easy, that is for sure. I was on board with seeing them grow together in such a pivotal way. The small quiet moments that bind them together and how they are able to heal in their own ways and come together. There are some suspense elements but it doesn't detract from the romance aspects, its more of a backstory.

Overall I found Fractured Sky to be a vibrant and soul aching romance that is completely riveting from beginning to end and captures the heart so wonderfully!
