Lives of Girls and Women by Alice Munro
4.0

Munro is such a talented writer, I love the way she describes the characters. The growth of a girl through the pubertal years is also beautifully described, not too many words, only the essential. There was something very universal in the text although the story takes place is a small Canadian village in 1940's. I couldn't help reading this as an autobiographical book though it is mentioned to be fiction, because Del and the other characters came so close to you.
