Broken Angels by Richard K. Morgan

3.0

I really hesitated over the 3rd star for this. I liked his more recent The Steel Remains, and can see his writing has matured since then. Much of this would have benefited from a red pencil to tighten up the story and remove some of the almost irrelevant parts. Some good concepts, but the battle scenes were a a bit unlikely, and the ability of the hero to sustain damage and carry on was a bit stretched even with the technology. Some of the characters were interesting but he didn't develop them enough. Many of the rest were forgettable.
