Thank you Grand Central Publishing for the gifted copy of Advika and the Hollywood Wives! All opinions in this review are my own.

I enjoyed Kirthana Ramisetti's debut novel but her second one blew me away! On the surface, it seems straightforward. Advika is an aspiring screenwriter who is waiting for her big break in Hollywood when she meets and marries legendary producer Julian who is 41 years older than her. When Julian's first wife dies, it is revealed that she included Advika in her will. His first wife will give her $1 million and a film reel if she divorces Julian.

This synopsis alone made me want to read Advika and the Hollywood Wives but it barely scratches the surface on the complex look at the inner workings of Hollywood relationships. Not only must Advika struggle to learn about her husband's past from sources like Wikipedia and library books, but she also has to figure out how to stay true herself while struggling with insurmountable grief.

There are so many layers to Advika's story that it makes a truly captivating read and I am already looking forward to Ramisetti's next novel!
