“Time did heal, there was no doubt about that. But time also stole. A few memories here and there. A wisp of the pain. It slowly tugged more and more away until you woke up one day and realized you could breathe without your chest cracking, think of that person without breaking down in sobs.”

“Bride of Ashes,” by Alaya Wells

This book blew me away so hard. I can’t even describe the wonderful ending and now I have to wait for book two!!!!!! Ugh. I absolutely loved every single thing about this book.

After the death of the man she loved, she finds out she is royalty and now has to marry a Fae king to create peace. On a ship to get married to the Fae king she cannot deny her attraction to the king’s bodyguard.  Once she meets her new husband, she also cannot deny her attraction to him as well. The love triangle that was going on in the book was absolutely everything. The tension was so good, perfectly written in a way that I didn’t know what I wanted to happen at the end because I loved both of them.

The mystery was also so freaking good. The mystery with the people’s memories and history of the Fae was so interesting and kept me so involved in the story. I could not get enough of the plot. The characters and the plot were so full that it was the perfect balance between both, which I feel can be so rare in the books I read.

On another note, the Nyxin I wasn’t sure how they were supposed to look like cause all I could picture was a regular puppy, lol. He was so cute, what a wonderful little sidekick.

5 out of 5 stars, I wouldn’t change anything, and I cannot wait to read book 2. I also ended up going on an hour-long rant with my husband telling him every single thing about this book that he won’t read because I was so blown away.

Thank you so much for the ARC, Booksprout.
