I enjoyed the read, but this one really dragged on at points, and could have definitely been shorter. I'm reading this as part of a publication order reading project for this author, and as a consequence, I'm interleaving this series with Throne of Glass. This means that at times, I'm mixing up the plots of these stories in my head, since they both involve fae, badass female protagonists with attitudes, moody dude characters, and of course everyone is super hot. We're bath with the same characters from the previous volumes, with only a couple of new side characters introduced. I think I'd like a prequel novella or something about Amren, since she's the most intriguing of the various side characters. There's not too much new character development, so this long book is mainly about plot. Lots of exciting battles, a few spicy scenes. As many other reviewers have said, the word "mate" appears way too often. I'll continue the series, since I have no idea where it's going next, and they are still entertaining.
