First of all, I loved this book! The writing is so magical and I love the way Axie Oh writes her stories. There is just something about it that makes me want to keep reading and feel for the characters.

I loved the main character Mina and how she wants to save her village from the violent storms by going to the spirit realm to become the Sea God’s bride. In the palace, she meets Shin, Namgi and Kirin who steal her soul. From there one a series of many adventures take place with wholesome friendships that are formed and also a love that is growing. The side characters all had their own personality and I especially found Namgi such a fun character!

I loved all the descriptions of the world itself, it really made me feel as if I was there alongside Mina. The Korean myths woven into the story were executed so well and I always love reading about myths and mythological creatures.

There are also some darker turns in the story and I did not see the plot twist coming!
All in all a great fantasy book with a very wholesome feeling to it!
