The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
4.0
I was captivated by this book almost right from the beginning. But it wasn’t really a page turner. It was interesting, don’t get me wrong, but there were some aspects I just didn’t like.
How Mara really didn’t have a backbone or she didn’t seem to care about her actions/consequences. I also didn’t like how she couldn’t really say no to Noah when he was annoying her/taking control, etc. I understand the author was trying to make it cute and romantic, but there are other approaches she could’ve taken.
The book reminds me a little bit of Death Note except in this case Mara just has to think it. Interesting concept to play with and I don’t see it done too often.
This book was really well written and I hate that it ended on a cliff hanger. The good thing is I have the other two books in the series which I will definitely be adding to my Spin the Wheel TBR!
