Awake On Garland Street by Laura Strickland
4.0
3.5 of 5 stars
I really enjoy reading books around the Christmas Holiday. So I was intrigued when I received Awake on Garland Street.
This book is a great read about second chances at love.
Brendan is a musician and chose his music and band over his love for Grace. Grace has always loved Brendan but when he left with his band, leaving her behind, she vowed to move on.
Eight years after the breakup. Brendan's band broke up....over a woman, so he has come back home. His Grandfather starts haunting him so he won't repeat his Grandfather's mistakes, losing the love of a good woman for the one-sided love of his music.
Grace has moved on, or so she claims, and is about to get married. But she can't go through with it. Her heart still belongs to Brendan.
They have the chance to try again, but when the wedge of his band starts coming back, will their love be strong enough to make it through.
I did enjoy Awake on Garland Street. It is a heartbreaking tale of love lost, wrong choices and life long regret. It is a bit slow to start with for my taste, but it is partly for a build up and information for the reader. It's a well thought out plot and a great character development.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
