I grew up watching the Lord of the Rings movies and eventually The Hobbit movies but I never got around to reading any of the books until now when I had to read The Hobbit for a class. Going into the book, I was worried I wouldn't like it because of how much I loved the movies and I knew there were some differences. I'm very happy that that wasn't the case. 

I thought the book was great. If you're a fan of the movies, but haven't read the book I highly recommend doing so. The book adds so much detail behind some of the scenes in the movies and I think you get to know the characters better.
