Meant to Be Immortal by Lynsay Sands

2.0

I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me they input all 31 novels before this into an AI and it created this book. It's just so overwhelmingly generic! I've literally read it all before. (But better done.)

It starts a house fire, but after that there's not a lot of excitement. Things happen to move the story along, and there's a little more action but as usual in these last few books, not enough for my liking.

I suddenly realized I was at 27%, but couldn't really tell you much about CJ or Mac.

There isn't much character building because CJ refuses to talk to Mac because she finds him attractive and doesn't do romance. Which made me annoyed at both of them.

Finally, it comes out why CJ has sworn off romance. It was a bit underwhelming and an instant, oh there's really no problem, fix. At least, she doesn't know about vampires. It seems like most of the mortal partners in the couples lately already know all about immortals.

Whereas we get some backstory on CJ, even if it is the most boring backstory, at least we know something about her. I literally know nothing about Mac after reading the entire book, besides his age and occupation.

The ending had some time passing paragraphs then we had a little excitement and a far too easy happily ever after. It was a total cop out. One minute she doesn't want to turn at all, the next she's agreeing.
