I listened to the audiobook and loved the narrator's accent. The book itself was pretty slow, especially in the beginning, and had more animal cruelty than I would have expected putting me off the book (trigger warning animal cruelty
chapter 40: one of the characters injures their kitten, trying to sacrifce it; in an earlier chapter, they find a mutilated fox body
). The mythology is a bit confusing and it seems like the set up for at least one other book, maybe a series.
