I was disappointed in this book because I loved We Were Liars so much, but this really felt like a repackaged version of that book just set in the 80's (though you could barely tell). I do think the author really captured the pressure put on oldest daughters, especially in families who have a reputation they think is important. Carrie was a really well written character, but the plot fell flat for me.
